There are some basic steps you need to focus on to optimize your website.
Step 1 – Website Domain Name
Your website Domain is the identity of you, your business and your brand so be careful while choosing a Domain name.

It should be easy to type, easy to pronounce & easy to understand.
Your Domain spelling should be correct & accurate.

You should avoid hyphens & numbers in your Domain.
Now you have a domain and you can start to build your website.
Step 2 – Keyword Research
After building your website you need to create content for your site and you need to do proper keyword research that your potential customers are using to search for your product or services.
You need to add those keywords to build content for your site and give information like what is your website about, if you are selling products or giving services.
Let’s take an example if you are an educational website and you are teaching a digital marketing course online then what keywords your students are using to search on google.
You can use some free keyword research tools like google trends, keyword generator, Ubersuggest, Wordstream keyword tool, but the fastest option is google suggest, it suggests most common searches that people are using while you type in the search box.
You can collect keywords from google suggest and also at the bottom of the search page.
Your page should have details like your product, price, location and some more additional information about your business so it could be more specific to a search term.
Step 3 – Create Content
A high quality content on your site can rank you on top. Your content may be a Webpage, Blog post, E-book, Whitepaper, Sales page, Infographic, Video, Image, Survey forms and many more.
Now you are well known about keyword research so your content should be like what people are searching for and how you can fulfill their need, so according to relevancy of your content with user need search engine will go through your website and check out what is your site about and then it decide ranking of your site in the search result.
So make relevant content titles that should be attracting and mind grabbing to your visitor.
Your content topic should be unique on every single page, Put different keywords on each page don’t mix up the same keyword on every page.
Maintain your content quality and freshness, There should not be any outdated content on your site.
Your content should be at least 1000 words content on each page so that it could deliver more quality details and could contain more keywords regarding your product or services so that more chances to be on rank on top.

This is what people are searching for and it shows in the search engine result page so be careful about. Title tag includes information about your products or services that you are covering on that page.

You must add a different Meta Description Tag for each page and you can add features and benefits for users and it should be like a call to action kind of content that users interact with to click on it.

Interlinking allows you to link on specific words within the blog of your page to another page when it is relevant and you can guide user by interlinking, thus your user might have interest in your blog as it is guiding your user throughout the website and user will stay long on your site to read a lot about that interlinking content and it will help search engine to better understand the relevancy of your content.
